Dance It Out is not just another dance class—it’s a movement meditation that guides you through intuitive movement and release of negative energy. Let go of the day, open your mind and body, and dance to the rhythm of your heart. This is a safe space to be yourself and let go.

Embody your essence, release what's holding you back, and discover your freedom by moving through the 5Rhythms®.
By letting go of your patterns and preconceived notions about what dance can be, you'll step into a new way of being that allows space for transformation to happen in your mind, heart and body.

WHAT IS IT

A Dance It Out session is based on the 5Rhythms practice, which an absolute joy to experience! It's a form of movement meditation that was developed by Gabrielle Roth in the 1970s, and it involves moving through five distinct rhythms or energy states – flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness – in a specific sequence. Each rhythm is associated with a particular emotion or state of being, and the practice is designed to help you tap into and move through your own emotional states in a safe and supportive environment.

HOW

In the 5Rhythms class, you'll be guided through the five rhythms by your teacher Daniel Struyf. The class is held in a dance studio where you have plenty of room to move and express yourself. The focus is on free and expressive movement to the music and guidance of your teacher, so there's no need to worry about following specific steps or choreography. The class is open to everyone, regardless of experience or ability.

YOUR TEACHER

I have always been passionate about travelling, connecting with people, moving and dancing. On my journey around the world I came across many cultures and discovered rituals and dances in each one of them.

I have found in the practice of the 5Rhythms a way of expressing emotions, a way to grow as a person and connecting with the uniqueness of life.

Dancing and moving made me realize that your body is home of what you need to know... and that part never lies to you.

Professionally I have learned that every diamond is unique with their flows and imprints. With this practice I want to invite you into the space where we come in touch with our inner brilliance, our hidden potential and nurture your aliveness.

Join me on the floor... your feet will lead you on your journey...

ABOUT THE 5RHYTHMS®
Created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms® is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Where the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a safe place for each of us to shatter the ego's hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free.
Creativity. Connection. Community.
We dance "Waves of 5 Rhythms" such as waves of energy accompanied by a DJ set (electro, world music, acoustic, etc.).
At each dance, we explore the qualities of each rhythm that touch the essence of who we are, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
